Moody RadioFriday on Chris Fabry Live, what Kirk and Paul did during the pandemic. They decided to use that time to create sacred songs of gospel hope to inspire the church to enjoy God. The result of that effort is The Wood Drake Sessions. They stopped by the studio recently and recorded a conversation with guest host Jon Gauger. Hear the music of Kirk Sauers and Paul Ranheim on Chris Fabry Live.
For more than three decades, Jon Gauger has served with Moody Radio as a writer, producer, and host. He is rarely seen without a camera, shooting photos and video for Moody Radio and others. In addition to The Land and the Book, Jon is heard on Moody Presents, Today in the Word, the Praise and Worship Channel, and Majesty Radio. He has traveled to 38 countries as a journalist, speaker, or trainer. An award-winning narrator, Jon has voiced 75 audiobooks and has written If I Could Do It All Over Again and Kids Say the Wisest Things. Jon is married to Diana, and they have two grown children and six truly extraordinary grandchildren. The Gaugers love reading, camping (trailers, not tents), and great Mexican food.
Birthed in 2020 when longtime friends Paul Ranheim and Kirk Sauers began songwriting via Zoom, The Wood Drake Sessions is a creative collaborative seeking to provide inspired and timely worship songs for the Church. The Wood Drake Sessions also offers a variety of resources, including charts, lead sheets and tutorials to help worshiping communities sing together. Paul Ranheim is a multi-instrumentalist, singer/songwriter, worship leader, pastor and church planter currently on staff at Redeemer Longmont in Colorado, while Kirk Sauers is a worship leader and artist-in-residence at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, Ga.
